Position: Material Handler- ILocation: Visalia, CA Pay Rate: $ Schedule: Monday–Thursday: : AM – : PM Friday: : PM – : PM Duration: MonthsJob SummaryThe Material Handling I role supports warehouse and distribution operations by receiving, storing, picking, packing, and shipping materials. The position requires safe operation of forklifts and material handling equipment, attention to detail, adherence to shipping and hazardous material regulations, and the ability to perform basic clerical and inventory-related tasks in a fast-paced environmentKey Responsibilities Load and unload freight and receive materials from outside vendors Pick, put away, move, and deliver materials using scanners and computer systems Operate forklifts and other powered industrial equipment safely Prepare, pack, scan, and ship materials in compliance with company procedures and DOT, IATA, and IMO regulations Handle and package hazardous materials, including preparing required documentation and labels Accurately document all material movements and perform inventory audits Process goods receipt, canning of materials, and CONF orders Schedule dock appointments and communicate discrepancies with Procurement Maintain warehouse organization, cleanliness, and safety standards Assist with training new employees and troubleshoot system issues Follow Good Distribution Practices (GDP) and all safety procedures Perform miscellaneous warehouse and clerical duties as assigned Required Skills & Qualifications Ability to communicate effectively in English (verbal and written) Ability to work independently and as part of a team Strong attention to detail and ability to adapt to changing priorities Basic computer skills (PCs, scanners, printers, shipping systems) Forklift operation experience (required) Understanding of basic shipping regulations preferred Experience with hazardous materials is a plus Education & Experience High School Diploma, GED, or HSED required Minimum year of warehouse or material handling experience preferred Physical & Work Environment Requirements Ability to stand and walk for up to hours per shift Ability to lift up to lbs unassisted (more with assistance) Work in a warehouse/distribution environment with potential exposure to moving equipment Use of PPE as required Exemplary attendance and schedule adherence Forklift operation required Heavy lifting over lbs required
