Transmission and Utilities Senior Project Manager

Freese and Nichols is seeking an accomplished Transmission and Utilities Senior Project Manager to lead innovative and impactful water infrastructure projects in our Atlanta or Columbus, Georgia office or our Charlotte, North Carolina office. In this vital role, you will command full-spectrum project management and technical oversight across all phases—from comprehensive studies to detailed design and construction—focused on advancing critical water and sewer distribution, collection system piping, and pump station projects. Your expertise with design-build and collaborative project delivery approaches will empower you to drive excellence, deliver superior client solutions, and help shape resilient, sustainable water systems that serve communities today and for generations to come.Serve as senior project manager for water/sewer distribution/collection system piping, pump stations, and treatment plant projectsPlan, execute, monitor, control and close projects using earned value management principlesProvide supervision of multi-discipline teams of engineers, engineering technicians, GIS analysts, designers, CAD staff, sub-consultants, etc. Coordinate assigned work to ensure continuity, consistency, and quality.Design and review calculations of others and seal drawings and reportsAbility to work independently and mentor junior staffMaintain effective communication with clients, clients’ staff, regulatory agencies and within project teamsParticipate in business development activities including engineering scope and fee preparation, proposal preparation, and marketing activities. Also, interaction and a commitment to client service for both internal and external clientsQualifications8+ years’ experience in water/wastewater engineering and project managementBachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering (or equivalent)Georgia Professional Engineer (PE) license or the ability to become registered within 6 monthsDemonstrated technical proficiency in hydraulics, industry standards, etc.Ability to lead, motivate, and manage a project team and oversee excellent quality of workExcellent written and oral communication skillsPreferredExperience in design-build and collaborative project deliveryAbout Freese and NicholsAt the heart of our culture is our LEADS values (Learn continuously, Engage as family, Act with integrity, Deliver quality, and Serve always).
