Child Life Specialists

This position plans and provides therapeutic intervention and appropriate psychosocial developmental care with pediatric patients and their families assists them in coping with the stress and anxiety of healthcare experiences, and maximizes the growth and development of infants, children, and adolescent patients.

Full-time positions with relocation assistance are available, as well as part-time and PRN: Current Areas with Positions Open Include:
• Inpatient med/surg, ortho, trauma unit (full-time + part-time)
• Pediatric intensive care unit (full-time)
• Inpatient hematology & oncology unit (full-time)
• Inpatient rehab unit (full-time)
• Inpatient neurology, EEG monitoring, med/surg unit (full-time)
• Pre-Op (part-time)

Required Qualifications:

Current BLS certification for Healthcare Providers from the American Heart Association. Bachelor's degree in Child Life, Therapeutic Recreation, or related field. Experience working with children in a childcare capacity, including private employment, or in volunteer roles as determined by the hiring manager Completion of a minimum 480 hour professional Child Life Internship, under the direction of a Certified Child Life Specialist.

Preferred Qualifications:

Certified Child Life Specialist (CCLS) credential from the Child Life Certifying Commission (CLCC). ***Must be obtained within 12 months of hire and maintained thereafter*** Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist (CTRS) credential, from the National Council Therapeutic Recreation Certification (NCTRC). Master's degree in Child Life, Therapeutic Recreation or related field. Professional Child Life experience in a hospital environment. Bilingual English-Spanish skills.
