Position SummaryBranch Civil (BCI) is always searching for skilled, reliable, and experienced construction workers, operators, and professionals to join our well-established, growing company. We have a variety of opportunities in the Stuart, VA area. These future employee-owners will contribute to the Branch's successful completion of projects in the heavy civil construction industry, including highways and site development. If you have questions, please email the talent acquisition team at employment@branchgroup.com.*Duties/ResponsibilitiesDepending on position, duties could include some or all of the following:Follow project instructions from the construction manager or supervisorUse construction and maintenance tools and equipment to complete daily tasksFollow all health and safety procedures on the job site and report violations immediately to management.Safely operate a variety of tools including pressure washers, jackhammers, drills, pipe saws, grinders, jumping jack, and plate compactor.Ensure construction equipment and tools are cleaned and stored properlyComply with all BCI, OSHA, or other relevant safety rules and regulationsConduct all business with a professional and respectful attitudeQualificationsDepending on position, duties could include some or all of the following:Positive attitude and work ethicAble to work independently or as an active member of a teamBasic computer skills with iPad and MS office experienceCDL License with hazmat and tanker endorsements required within 60 days2-3 years of operator experienceDOT experience preferredCompetenciesDependabilityProductivityCommunicating EffectivelyFollowing Policies and ProceduresWorking SafelyPhysical DemandsThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. The position lifts heavy objects, walks and stands for long periods of time and performs strenuous physical labor under adverse field conditions. The employee lifts, pushes, pulls or carries objects. The position requires good manual dexterity (hand, hand with arm, two hands). The position requires the ability to quickly move arms and legs. The employee must frequently lift or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift or move up to 100 pounds.Position Type/Expected Hours of Work40 hours per week. Schedules may vary based on project.
