Oracle GDI- Government, Defense & Intelligence is seeking a highly experienced and motivated Senior Data Engineerjoin our Consulting Services organization on an exciting new contract. The Senior Data Engineer role will be part of a team of Application, Cloud, and Security engineers delivering a cloud-native, centralized data platform that delivers end-to-end budget traceability. This role is a full-time, in-person position, primarily based in the office with occasional visits to client sites. We are seeking candidates who reside in the Virginia/Washington DC region. Required Skills and Qualifications:8+ years of experience in data engineering, ETL development, or database managementStrong expertise in Oracle Database technologies (., Oracle 19c, Oracle Exadata, Oracle Data Integrator - ODI)Proven experience with PL/SQL, Oracle partitioning, and performance tuningDeep understanding of data modeling, data warehousing concepts, and star/snowflake schemasStrong knowledge of ETL pipeline design and implementation for large-scale data systemsProficiency in shell scripting, Python, or other automation toolsExperience with Oracle GoldenGate or similar CDC (Change Data Capture) toolsFamiliarity with data governance, metadata management, and data lineage practicesAbility to work with cross-functional teams including data scientists, DBAs, and business analystsStrong verbal and written communication skills for documenting and presenting solutionsDesired Skills and Qualifications:Experience integrating Oracle databases with big data platforms (., Hadoop, Spark, or cloud-based data lakes)Familiarity with Oracle Big Data SQL or Oracle Autonomous DatabaseExposure to cloud platforms such as Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI), AWS, or AzureExperience with streaming data architectures (., Apache Kafka, Oracle Stream Analytics)Knowledge of data security best practices and regulatory compliance Experience with DevOps and CI/CD pipelines in a data engineering contextOracle certifications (., Oracle Certified Professional or Oracle Big Data certification) are a plusRequired Credentials and Experience: Must possess or have the ability to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI security clearance with Polygraph 8+ years of experience relevant to this positionBachelor’s Degree in engineering, computer science, business, or related discipline.
