About the role:As a Manufacturing Technician III, you are responsible for performing functions associated with all manufacturing operations in daily support of products, processes, materials, and equipment in order to achieve production goals (i.e., quality, delivery, cost, productivity, and safety. Daily tasks include responding to equipment downtimes issues on the production floor, performing routine preventative maintenance on production equipment, and supporting Manufacturing Engineers (ME) in value improvement projects. Most of your time is spent on the production floor, working on equipment, and engaging with our Medical Device Specialists (i.e. MDS operators). With General Supervision, you will work on 2nd shift as part of a technician team in the Nitinol Shape Memory (NSM) business unit. NSM 2nd shift runs Monday - Friday from 1:30pm to 9:30pm. Relocation Relocation assistance is not available for this position at this time. Your responsibilities will include: Apply advanced mechanical, electrical, control, and pneumatic expertise to diagnose and resolve complex issues on automated production equipment. Lead troubleshooting efforts for process, material, or equipment failures to minimize downtime and ensure sustained performance. Drive implementation of robust corrective actions for recurring or high-impact manufacturing issues. Perform and oversee equipment setup, calibration, and both preventive and corrective maintenance with minimal supervision. Lead equipment startups and shutdowns, ensuring safe-state transitions and readiness for production continuity. Install, validate, and optimize equipment and processes to enhance yield, reduce cycle time, and support scalability. Design, modify, and validate tooling and fixtures to support evolving production needs. Assess, recommend, and procure equipment, tools, and fixtures aligned with long-term operational goals. Uphold quality standards and proactively communicate risks or deviations to cross-functional teams. Apply Lean Manufacturing principles to identify waste, streamline workflows, and improve overall efficiency. Champion Value Improvement Projects (VIPs), driving cost savings and process enhancements through technical innovation. Mentor and provide expert-level technical guidance to product builders and fellow technicians. Demonstrate flexibility and leadership across teams, adapting to changing priorities and supporting cross-functional collaboration. Take initiative in Shared Responsibility and continuous improvement teams, contributing strategic insights and solutions. Promote and model adherence to all BSC and site-specific policies and procedures.  Comply with all safety regulations, including QSR and ISO standards, and foster a culture of safety and accountability. Complete all required BSC and site-specific training with a focus on continuous learning and professional development. Mandatory Weekend OT is required on a rotation recurring basis. Current OT requirement is minimum once (Saturday and Sunday) every 4 weeks. Required qualifications: 2 years of experience with High School Diploma and/or equivalent experience, training, or apprenticeships Preferred qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering Technology or related field strongly preferred. Advanced troubleshooting skills with the ability to diagnose and resolve high-level equipment and process issues. Strong leadership and mentoring capabilities; able to guide junior technicians and influence cross-functional teams. Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with a proactive approach to problem-solving and continuous improvement. Demonstrated ownership of equipment reliability, performance, and long-term corrective actions. Experience supporting complex automated manufacturing lines and high-volume production environments. Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings, schematics, and validation protocols. Prior involvement in equipment installation, validation, and continuous improvement initiatives. Experience leading root-cause investigations and driving sustainable solutions across teams.
