Summary:St. John Paul II Catholic High School is seeking the next member of its distinguished faculty for the 2026-2027 school year. Currently, we are seeking a high school mathematics teacher, with experience in a breadth of high school math coursework including the upper-level track to AP Calculus.
This is a full-time position, with benefits, and could include leading the math department. The school seeks to maintain a fully and authentically Catholic environment and seeks teachers who can share our faith with young people.
Responsibilities
& DutiesPrepare curriculum documents to include standards, scope and sequences, syllabi, and lesson plansUse appropriate and varied instructional strategies, activities, and materials to promote student success and achievementConsistently monitor student achievement through appropriate and varied formative and summative assessmentsUpdate the school's electronic gradebook site (RenWeb) with lesson plans and student grades at least once per weekEstablish and maintain open communication with students, their parents, and administrationAttend faculty meetings, events, and professional developmentCollaborate with other faculty members for professional, instructional, and supervisory dutiesAssume a variety of roles in support of student activities outside of class, both during the school day and after normal school hours Supports and upholds the philosophy of Catholic education and the mission of the schoolActs as a witness to Gospel values by modeling the teachings of the Catholic ChurchSupports and adheres to the policies and procedures of the school and Archdiocese of San Antonio, including the Religious Standards for Catholic School EmployeesMaintains confidentiality regarding school mattersAdheres to safety training and protocols on a daily basis and takes precautionary measures to ensure the safety and well-being of self, others. Responsible for protecting the confidentiality of any information or material obtained in the service with the organization to include but not limited to client names and information, services rendered to clients, donors names and gifts, internal and external investigations or results of any investigations, and financial information. Adherence to the Code of Conduct and the Faith and Moral Policy is mandatory.
