The Asphalt Plant Laborer position involves various manual tasks, and safely performs a variety of duties. Wage ranges from $21 to $23 per hour, dependent on experience. Key Responsibilities (Essential Duties and Functions)Greasing and adjusting plant equipment.Unloading AC tankers.Pull oil/asphalt and cold feed samples.Collect shot temperatures.Safely and efficiently operate skid steer/man lift.General upkeep of the plant area.Help perform maintenance and minor repairs on the plant.Other duties as assigned. QualificationsTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Education/ExperienceHigh School diploma or general education degree (GED) required.Minimum of 1 year experience and/or training in a related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience.Minimum of 3 years of road construction experience preferred. Work RequirementsMust be 18 years of age or older.Must pass pre-employment physical, drug screen and criminal background check.Must maintain current driver’s license that meets state requirements.Strict adherence to safety requirements and procedures as outlined in the Employee Handbook.Willingness to work independently within a team environment and assist the team with other duties as required.Display a professional and courteous attitude to co-workers, supervisors, and the general public at all times.Individuals are required to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) in designated operations and production areas as stated by OSHA and/or MSHA.
