Job Description Under the supervision of the Fitness Director, the Personal Trainer, a YMCA staff member, will design a personal and individualized wellness program for the member they are working with. The Personal Trainer will represent the Old Colony Y in a positive, professional manner resulting in friendly, convenient and courteous service. The Personal Trainer will be responsible for providing individualized service suited for the member’s personal needs and goals. The Personal Trainer will uphold the employee code of conduct and will ensure that all areas of the job responsibilities reflect the mission of the Old Colony Y, and the regulating agency. The Personal Trainer will display and encourage the character traits of caring, responsibility, honesty and respect in the fulfillment of all job duties. Requirements Design a personal training program based on the member’s needs and goals. Provide safe, motivational instruction to each client. Design a safe, effective workout grounded in acceptable exercise techniques, practicing only within the scope of education and knowledge trainer possesses. Maintain accurate health screening records. Attend staff meetings and trainings . Advise clients on good nutrition.
