Senior Network Security Engineer, IT / Cybersecurity TeamPalo Alto, CA (on-site)About 1XWe build humanoid robots that work alongside people to solve labor shortages and create abundance.The RoleWe’re seeking a Senior Network Security Engineer to lead the design, implementation, and security of 1X’s network infrastructure across corporate, cloud, and co-located environments. You’ll ensure scalable, high-performance connectivity while upholding best practices in network security and collaborating across teams.You WillArchitect, design, and implement secure and optimized network solutions for corporate offices, cloud infrastructure, and data centersManage and execute site builds, including secure office network deploymentsConfigure, secure, and manage wireless networks following security best practicesTroubleshoot wired, wireless, and service provider connectivity issues to maximize performance and uptimeContinuously optimize network performance, scalability, reliability, and securityCollaborate with IT, business, and operations teams to gather requirements and deliver resilient networking solutionsDevelop and maintain detailed documentation including network diagrams, configurations, and policiesTravel occasionally, both locally and domestically, to support site deployments or auditsMust Have5–10 years of experience in network engineering or a related fieldStrong understanding of TCP/IP fundamentals and the OSI modelExperience designing, deploying, and troubleshooting leaf-and-spine architectures using HPE Aruba CX switchesExpertise in EVPN/VXLAN, VSX, MLAG, BGP, OSPF, and fabric-level routingProficiency in diagnosing complex L2/L3 issues, including routing anomalies and segmentationExperience deploying and managing Aruba APs, controllers, and Aruba Central/AirWaveDeep understanding of Wi-Fi design, including RF planning and optimization techniquesImplementation of certificate-based onboarding for Wi-Fi using ClearPass and EAP-TLSOperation and troubleshooting of Aruba ClearPass (RADIUS, TACACS+, profiling, posture, PKI integration)Management and debugging of Palo Alto firewalls (Panorama, NAT, VPNs, QoS, App-ID/User-ID)Expertise in DNS and DHCP design, configuration, and troubleshootingFamiliarity with PKI, certificate lifecycle, and automated device enrollmentExperience with monitoring and observability tools (Grafana, NetFlow, SNMP, Syslog, telemetry)Knowledge of network automation tools and practicesFamiliarity with modern security stack components such as cloud security (Wiz), endpoint security (MDM, EDR, CrowdStrike), asset management/CMDB, and vulnerability managementBenefits & CompensationSalary Range: $139,340 – $160,000 + EquityHealth, dental, and vision insurance401(k) with company matchPaid time off and holidaysEqual Opportunity Employer1X is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
