Our Opportunity: The mission of the on ground, part-time adjunct Nursing Instructor, regardless of thecurriculum, is to provide the student(s), our customer(s), with the skills and knowledgenecessary to obtain entry-level employment in the field of their chosen program ofstudy. To accomplish this mission, all instructors will utilize their talents, skills, andabilities in a coordinated and consistent team effort under the guidance and supervisionof the Director of Education/ Dean/ Program Chair, or his or her designee. Successful candidates in this role will reside in the Perry/Des Moines, IA area or withina commutable distance. A Bachelor's degree in Nursing is required. What to expect in this role: Provide an engaging learning environment by hands-on activities and with open and timely communication Provide students with appropriate guidance regarding academic excellence Partner with advisors and leadership on student concerns, resolution, retention, and outcomes. Participate in institutional assessment and curriculum review. Remain current with trends, techniques, and technology. Maintenance of a professional development plan. Additional duties as may be assigned by the School. Experience: BSN required; MSN preferred Must have two years nursing experience in the field being hired to teach. Currently looking for Med Surg and Peds. Active, unencumbered state RN licensure Higher education teaching experience is preferred What we’re looking for: Exceptional computer skills. Adjunct compensation varies per course based on student enrollment, program type and also includes a contribution to a retirement account. A typical adjunct in the School of Nursing can expect to receive $3300 per full 10-week course. Retirement account benefits include an automatic 403(b) company contribution of 3% and a company match up to an additional 4% with participation in an optional 457(b) plan.
