It is the steadfast goal of the Department of Intercollegiate Athletics to provide the most outstanding student-athlete experience by helping them to achieve excellence, both in the classroom and in their chosen sport. The department has approximately 290 administrative & classified employees and hosts over 600,000 spectators annually, and represents the University of Oregon in athletic competition with other universities & colleges. Position Summary The Senior Sports Dietitian is responsible for the leadership and development of UO Sports Nutrition. Primary objectives include the development of processes and procedures, mentorship of staff, innovation of systems, and setting the standard for service within the sports nutrition department. Responsibilities also include individual student athlete assessment and nutrition consultation, team education, planning and execution of fueling strategies, and documentation and reporting of student athlete progress for assigned teams. This position will also be responsible for maintaining and distributing product at fueling stations and various athletics facilities as needed. Special Conditions of Employment:Possess a valid driver’s license with the ability to obtain and maintain a University of Oregon Driver's Certification. Minimum Requirements • Master's degree in dietetics/nutrition or related field. • Five years post-graduate experience with three years of experience providing performance nutrition support to collegiate, professional, or elite level athletes.• Must obtain CSSD, RD, or an alternate nutrition certification to practice within the state of Oregon within 3 months of start date.
