RAPP Detroit is looking for a Director, Print Production to join our award-winning Program Management team.YOUR ROLE:The Director oversees the production and distribution of the assigned marketing material while driving efficiencies across the division. Asset management, workflow optimization and partner engagement are core tenets of the role. As such, the role touches all aspects of the process from creative to production to fulfillment.The ideal candidate is a self-starter with clearly demonstrated production management skills. This person oversees all aspects of print and digital finishing, adaptive and production. They will be responsible for servicing the key art needs of all other departments. Responsible for not just print production, this role is relied upon to manage client marketing's needs requests. Additionally, they will be responsible for working with the legal and asset management teams to ensure continuity and accuracy.YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES: Coordinates, schedules, facilitates and monitors printing and production servicesReviews print requests; organizes and implements a production work schedule for processing requestsMaintains job log for assigned projectsCreates and implements an accountability system for each phase of the production schedule to insure the timely completion and availability of projectsProvides direction and support during schedule interruptions to accommodate emergency requestsInspects and verifies completed projects meet quality standardsCoordinates production activity between multi-disciplinary groups during job development.Maintains ownership of all projects in their group, including the supervision of their subordinates.Writes detailed lettershop instructionsSupplies specification for vendors’ estimatesIssues all paper work, including POs, in a timely mannerReconciles all jobs with team after completion of campaignAbility to guide members of the team during creative development to meet the budgetary requirements of the clientApproves RFP plans writtenChecks all vendor invoices against both POs and estimates before signing off. Signs off bills on a timely basisProactively identifies and helps resolve problems when issues ariseUnderstands and stays up-to-date on latest technologies and takes a proactive approach to new formats, materials, etcAccepts and proactively supports new challenges and quality improvement effortsAdheres to and promotes correct departmental procedures to team membersAble to handle multiple accounts or more complex accounts.Flexible with hours and able to travel. SUCCESS CRITERIA: Execution excellenceClear & articulate team communication & relationship buildingDemonstrates an informed and thoughtful POVProactively tracks trends in business and market place relevant to Client business REQUIRED SKILLS: 5-7+ years prior work experience leading Print Production efforts in Advertising or MarketingAgency experience a plusHighly developed interpersonal, team building and relationship management skillsDetailedAbility to analyze and resolve problems quickly and effectively with little supervisionProven Supervisory/Management skillsAbility to thrive in a fast-paced work environment while following department protocol.Some supervisory/management skillsStrong knowledge of various print processes, lettershop, postal, personalization and prepressTechnology savvyKnowledge of current electronic and traditional studiosHave complete knowledge of all aspects for postal requirementsWorking knowledge of prepress operationsBachelor degree required Our Hybrid Work Model:RAPP's current hybrid model is designed to enable in-person connections and collaboration that is core to our culture, while also supporting flexibility for all employees. This range is specific to Detroit and multiple factors are considered in making compensation decisions including, but not limited to: skill set, experience and training, certifications; etc. This is an exempt position.
