Summary Coastal Kids Pediatric Care in partnership with Pediatric Associates is seeking a pediatric Regional Medical Director (RMD) to provide oversight and continuous improvement of the direct patient care provided by the general pediatric clinicians within the Southern California region. Under the direction of the Chief Medical Officer (CMO), the Regional Medical Director will be accountable for maximizing overall clinical value while engaging physicians/APPs to improve clinical quality, efficiency, outcomes, and clinician/patient satisfaction. The Regional Medical Director will provide patient care 1 day per week and will provide clinician leadership, management, and development the other 4 days per week. Office Locations are currently serving patients in the following counties: Ventura, , San Bernadino, Kern and Orange County. Candidate must reside in one of these locations or be willing to relocate. The Regional Medical Director will: Directly leads and manages regional and office level clinician leads. The RMD is indirectly responsible for the clinician teams who report to them and typically oversees a single small/medium platform within one state Assumes responsibility for the overall quality and care provided in the region; assuring that all platform and state practices operate within the clinical quality, care, and safety guidelines of the Enterprise, as well as federal/regional/state guidelines and national best practices. Oversees the building and development of the clinician workforce throughout the region. Approves and monitors measures and standards for clinician performance.; and will implement programs that effectively develop, align, and engage the highest caliber of clinicians. With Regional Operational Dyad Leadership, coordinate, approves, and monitors office standards that result in the highest quality of care while providing value, efficiency, and outstanding service to patients. Responsible for achieving the clinical and operational goals established for the assigned states and region. Develops, deploys, and oversees regional clinician operations budgets that assure adequate resources to meet clinical and organizational goals. Approves and monitors standards for staffing and scheduling within the regions. Advises and works collaboratively with medical management, risk management and other staff support teams to design and implement enterprise and regional level medical and quality goals, programs, and policies to improve overall quality and cost-effectiveness of care and service for patients and to engage a high caliber, efficient clinician workforce. Assures the maintenance of quality accreditation and credentialing standards through established enterprise and regional programs. Represents the region on clinician committees as appointed by the Board and the CMO, including the Enterprise Medical Executive Committee (MEC), Clinician Advisory Committee (CAC) and others, approving clinical standards and policy on behalf of the region and Enterprise. Education: MD or DO degree required Licensure/Certification: This position requires an active medical license in the State of California and good standing with the state’s Board of Medicine, as well as Pediatric Board Certification - American Board of Medical Specialties. Active BLS CPR certification required Experience: Minimum 3 years’ progressive experience in a clinical leadership position Experience with fiscal accountability and budgeting Knowledge and experience in a managed care delivery system, advancing clinical outcomes, and quality improvement processes Experience with value-based care programs, population risk management and/or complex chronic disease care management Knowledge of and experience with quality infrastructure, including how to develop and implement decision tools, clinical protocols and guidelines, leadership development programs, and outcome measurement assessments Working knowledge of statistical analysis, clinical epidemiology, and medical informatics Understanding of pediatric best practices and how to successfully introduce performance management initiatives into clinical practice #INDPEDASSOC Share:
