OPD's industry experience, flexibility, and personal attention have made us a preferred partner to our customers and our tight knit, highly productive, team atmosphere makes OPD a great place to work.What You Will DoSome core responsibilities for a Material Expeditor include:Coordinate and expedite flow of materials within the jobsite, according to production and shipping schedulesExamine material delivered to jobsite for damagesArrange on site transfer of materials to meet production schedules.Maintain status and location of materials.Monitor and control movement of material upon arrival to the site.Must be a team player that makes customer focus and satisfaction a top priority in all business decision making.Being a safety role model for the teamEnforcing OPD and client specific safety policies and procedures on the jobsiteWe expect all field employees to:Actively participate in a strong safety cultureRecognize safety hazards and risksParticipate in onsite safety meetingsFollow OPD and client safety policies and proceduresBe on time each day ready for workDisplay a positive attitude and be able to work in a team environmentHigh attention to detail to avoid reworks and errorsSome physical demands of being a Material Expeditor include:Capable of working in outdoor weather and environmental conditions including extreme heat and humidity, extreme cold, and high elevations.Lifting and carrying awkward objects up to 60 lbsMoving the entire body. Considerable use of arms, legs, climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, crawling, twisting, reaching, and bending on a regular basis.Use hands to handle, control, and feel objects and/or tools.Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)One or more years of experience working with pipe, valves, and fittings in a gas plant construction environmentAbility to read and interpret construction drawings and material specificationsAble and willing to work in a fast paced, demanding environment with critical deadlinesHighly motivated with excellent problem-solving skillsMust be willing and able to meet all physical demands of the jobMust be able and willing to attend mandatory safety meetingsWillingness and ability to work in a team environment with a customer focusWhat Will Put You AheadPast experience working as a materials helperPrevious experience in Supply Chain and managing inventoryOur BenefitsOur goal is for each employee, and their families, to live fulfilling and healthy lives.
