Turf Technician (Part-Time)

The City of Peoria Parks and Recreation Department is seeking interested individuals to perform skilled tasks in the preventative maintenance of a variety of tools and mechanical park equipment at multiple sports facilities locations. Work locations include the City's three community parks, Municipal Operations Center, and the Peoria Sports Complex.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Inspecting, testing, diagnosing and repairing problems involving various systems/components of parks-related tools and equipment such as gasoline/diesel motors, mowers, tractors, utility vehicles, and other tools;Performing preventative maintenance of equipment and assists with maintaining records of services and repairs. Sharpening mowers for proper height cut.

Self-motivated and able to work both individually and with a team with an understanding of common techniques, methods, practices, procedures, use of forms, routines, etc., of an intermediate nature;Safety conscious, punctual team player with a high work ethic, with the flexibility to act cross-functionally when the Department's workload demands;Interested in a flexible part-time schedule with an estimated 18-30 hours per week;Open to schedules that vary depending on assignment and could include nights and weekends.
