JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:The Grozinger Lab at Penn State University is seeking a part-time Pollinator Health and Ecology Research Support member. This position will involve working with multiple species of bees and possibly other insects, assisting faculty, staff, and graduate students with research plant care, observations, experiments, and assays, and collecting and interpreting data in greenhouse, laboratory, or field settings. The ideal candidate will have a strong interest in pollinator health and behavior.Responsibilities:Assist with the care and maintenance of research plants and experimental setupsConduct observations and experiments involving multiple species of bees and other insectsAssist with laboratory assays and data collectionWork collaboratively with faculty, staff, and graduate students on research projectsMaintain accurate records of experimental data and assist with data interpretationHelp maintain a clean and organized work environment in the greenhouse, laboratory, and field settingsQualifications:Previous experience working with bees or other insects, or in a laboratory is preferred along with a strong interest in pollinator health and behaviorExcellent organizational and communication skillsAbility to work independently and as part of a teamWillingness to work in greenhouse, laboratory, and field settingsAttention to detail and the ability to follow experimental protocolsHours: Part-time, flexible hours (- hours per week)This job may require that you operate a motor vehicle as a part of your job duties.
