What you will be doing as a Maintenance Technician… Move dies, die components, and materials to and from the shop floor to the Tool Room using aforkliftOrganize the mold storage area, putting dies and trim dies into its designated spaceComplete assembly and disassembly of dies under supervisionUnderstand and use die manuals to assemble dies correctlyUse simple measuring tools and operate tool room equipment (e.g. drill press, band saw)Be able to safely address simple issues that arise in die cast machines including changing cores,cleaning of dies and die components as well as de-flashing the diesComplete die repairs as neededPerform trim die repair and maintenanceMake simple die components and fixturesRemove hung castings from dies on Die Cast machines.Responsible for troubleshooting electrical control circuits and repairing and maintaining allelectrical systems in the facilityTroubleshoot, repair, and maintain all hydraulic and pneumatic systems as neededResponsible for repairing gas fired and electrical furnaces and making sure they are properlymaintained on a routine basis. You will also be repairing transformers, buss bars, water tower,pumps, and compressors as needed.Responsible for troubleshooting electrical control circuits and repairing and maintaining allelectrical systems in the facilityCapable of assisting or repairing PLC hardware for Die Cast and other plant equipmentResponsible to successfully complete all required safety training, including Lock/Out Tag/OutTrainingMaintenance Techs will also repair water cooling systems and plant air systems whenrequired. Repair/rebuild all parts of a die cast machine, gear reduction units, and forkliftsMust follow all safety rules and policies as set forth by OSHA guidelines and Pace Industriespolicies and procedures as outlined in the employee manualFollow the requirements of the Quality Policy, ISO/TS system, and procedures and participate inthe Continuous Quality processMaintain a clean and safe work environment and report any unsafe conditions in a timely mannerMust follow all safety rules and policies as set forth by OSHA guidelines and Pace Industries,including wearing the proper personal protective equipment (PPE)Perform other associated duties, functions or work as may be needed or assigned to continue theproductive operation of the company.Skills you ideally bring to the table as a Maintenance Technician …Knowledge of basic machine operation (lathes, drills, grinders, boring mills, rotary mill, verticaland horizontal mills) a plusID/OD micrometer, depth and height gages, thread gages, all measuring/gaging instrumentsassociated with Tool and Die Maintenance and RepairMust have a complete understanding in one or more of the following: hydraulics and pneumatics,PLCs, and electrical/electronic systems (single, 3 phase & low voltage control circuits)Must have the ability to read and interpret blueprints and schematicsMust have some previous welding experience including arc and MIG weldingMust be willing to keep up with changing technologyRequires a positive attitude and good interpersonal skillsMust be willing to embrace new technology and change. Willing to constantly seek improvement.Must possess and apply 5s methodologyGood written and verbal communication skills.
