Your contributions will drive scientific & technical advancements ensuring our National Security. Responsibilities Develop algorithms, conduct studies of physical phenomenology, and characterize performance of electro-optical (EO), infrared (IR), and spectral systems and data. Collaborate with a multi-contractor/government team to support the execution of ambitious science and technology (S&T) projects and achieve sponsor objectives. Conduct research and development (R&D) tasks to advance community knowledge in specific scientific and technical areas. Understand and fluent in developing, using, and refining advanced image processing chains and quality assessments of intermediate data products. Perspective gained through successfully transitioning R&D capabilities to analysts and the role of each part of the TCPED chain. Share technical expertise through mentoring junior team members, weighing in to support colleagues, and fostering partnerships across the community. Engage on-site with customer leadership, senior government officials, and mission partner representatives to articulate support to and importance of sponsor objectives. Create and deliver content and briefing materials succinctly capturing work performed, notable observations, and activities advancing the state of the art.  Qualifications TS/SCI with CI Poly clearance. Bachelor’s degree in Physics, Imaging Science, Optics, Mathematics, or Engineering with 9 years of experience; or 7+ years of relevant experience with a Graduate Degree. Strong mathematical background with demonstrated experience in signal processing, image processing, computer vision, and/or statistical analysis. Proficiency in Python, MATLAB, IDL, R, C++, and/or UNIX-based scripting Able to use cloud-hosted architectures and applications to conduct high-performance computing Experience working with various forms of remotely sensed data. Understanding of image processing techniques and software tools. Expertise in ensuring image/product quality throughout the TCPED chain. Knowledge of ground processing architectures and image processing algorithms. , Required SkillsExcellent organizational and multi-tasking abilities, with the capacity to plan and manage projects effectively and resolve conflicting priorities.Clear communication skills, both written and verbal, for technical and non-technical audiences.Ability to handle multiple tasks and timelines, including long-term studies and same-day deliveries., Desired Skills PhD in relevant science Demonstrated experience in the role of Senior Imagery Scientist Lead contributor to algorithms, software, briefs , About Solis Applied ScienceSolis Applied Science (Solis), a GRVTY Company, was founded in 2016 by remote sensing experts, with deep-rooted academic, federal, military, and industry applied science backgrounds.
