Motor Vehicle SupervisorEmployment Type: 0 - Full-time Regular Pay Range: $63, - 98,Location: Castle Rock, COOvertime Exempt: Y Elected Office / Department: CLERK & RECORDERThe Motor Vehicle Supervisor is responsible for the management and day-to-day operation and work activities for a Motor Vehicle branch office of the Douglas County Clerk & Recorder’s office as directed by the leadership team. This is a highly visible position requiring exceptional leadership, organizational, and communication skills. The Motor Vehicle Supervisor is responsible for ensuring the culture and working environment is conducive to optimum employee productivity, maintaining compliance with regulations. The Motor Vehicle Supervisor is responsible for coaching and supervision of staff; creation and enforcement of policies, procedures, and state statutes and regulations. Coordinates with and assists other Clerk & Recorder Divisions as needed.Generally, the hiring range is $65,345-$81,681 annually. Qualifications, education and experience as it relates to the position will be taken into consideration when determining hiring salary.Your future is important to us.Douglas County offers a comprehensive benefits package — including medical, dental, vision, and retirement plans — plus a wide range of additional resources to support your health, growth, and overall well-being. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: (The following examples are illustrative only and are not intended to be all inclusive.) Manages the daily operation of a Motor Vehicle branch office, which may include but is not limited to, counter work, data entry, special projects, phones, mortgage mail, schedules, cashiering, dealer desk, fleet area and all other work areas within the Motor Vehicle Department. Ensures statutory and internal process compliance of all Motor Vehicle functions.Manages and resolves problems or issues with customers and works directly with the Deputy of Motor Vehicle to resolve issues with staff within the Motor Vehicle Department.Acquires and maintains a highly technical working knowledge of relevant laws, regulations, policies, standards, and Motor Vehicle operations procedures. Works closely with the Department of Revenue to research, identify and resolve complex title/registration transaction issues.Establishes and maintains effective working relationships with employees, internal, and external agencies including but not limited to Colorado Department of Revenue, Colorado County Motor Vehicle offices, Out of State Motor Vehicle offices, dealerships, lien holders, financial institutions, Colorado Interactive and a number of various vendors.Creates daily office schedule to include office coverage and training.May assist in the new hire process by reviewing applications and conducting interviews.Creates and delivers performance evaluations of the Motor Vehicle staff in collaboration with the Deputy of Motor Vehicle.Supervises and directs work for staff and monitors their responsibilities to ensure compliance with office policies and procedures, County policy, and state statute.Works with Deputy of Motor Vehicle and Human Resources to address and resolve staff personnel matters. Assists with monitoring the operating budget for the branch and makes budget recommendations to the Deputy of Motor Vehicle.Balances or oversees balancing of the cash tendering system (CTS) for the branch office. Oversee Lead duties, License plate inventory, error report, locator report, timesheets, staff meetings and notes and promotes professional development of staff and self. Lives out the Vision, Mission, and Core Values of the Clerk and Recorder’s Office, maintaining a supportive environment conducive to teamwork.Performs other duties as assigned. Performs other duties as assigned in support of business operations, statutory compliance and department needs. Provides support across Divisions as business needs arise. Crosstrain as needed to support Continuity of Operations Plan (COOP).All Clerk & Recorder employees may be required to work in the Elections Division in any capacity that is needed during election cycles.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: A High School or GED is required A minimum of one year of Lead or Supervisory experience is required.Four years of Motor Vehicle experience, or a combination of some Motor Vehicle experience and additional Supervisory experience totaling a minimum of four years is required.Experience working with the public. A combination of education and experience may be considered for a well-qualified candidate. CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, & REGISTRATIONS: Must be a US CitizenMust possess a valid Colorado Driver’s License upon hire, with complying insurance. Review of motor vehicle record is required at time of hire and periodically throughout employment.
