JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTSThe Root Agroecology Lab at Penn State is looking for research assistant(s) for ongoing lab projects. The Fleishman Root Agroecology Lab seeks to understand the relationship between roots and soil properties in order to clarify the dual role of roots as: 1) supporters of plant health and 2) shapers of key soil functions.Responsibilities may include:Collect plant and soil samples from the field or greenhousesLaboratory analyses on plant and soil samples Data entry and organizationSupport experiment setup and maintenanceCollaborate with lab members on ongoing projectsQualifications:Strong interest in agroecology, plant sciences, or related fieldsThe ability to work in a variety of conditions, including outdoorsWillingness to learn and work as part of a teamAttention to detail and well organizedBACKGROUND CHECKS/CLEARANCESEmployment with the University will require successful completion of background check(s) in accordance with University policies. This position requires that you operate a motor vehicle as a part of your job duties.
