In this front-line role, you’ll support residents at the Finance counter, safeguard Town funds, and assist with light accounting and special projects. Management may assign additional functions related to the type of work of the class as necessary. Essential Functions:Collects and safeguards cash and checks at the Finance counter, including all cash receipts for the Town; identifies the purpose of cash receipts, ensures receipts are properly coded.Enters detailed cash receipts data into the point-of-sale system.Balances cash drawers to system reports.  Research deposits and coding errors to prepare the deposit; reconciles deposit tickets to cash input.  Resolves differences.Responds to customer questions about bills; directs customers to other Town personnel as appropriate.Safeguards Finance Department’s and the Town's emergency purchase credit cards; reviews and processes transactions in financial system, ensuring purchasing regulations are met.Safeguards, balances, reviews and distributes petty cash funds.Identifies and records wires from all sources.  Works with staff to identify correct coding.  Prepares and creates other spreadsheets to reconcile revenues and other cashiering related items.Creates and maintains vendor profiles in the ERP system for the Town.Develops policies for new procedures and updates current policies when procedures change, or system updates dictate Reviews Town Ordinances, purchasing procedures, Town Administrative Regulations and the State Code to determine adherence to policies and procedures, as they relate to the work performed.Manages database and distribution of Animal Licenses for the Town.Performs light accounting duties and special projects as needed.Additional Duties:Performs related work as assigned.Responsibilities, Requirements and ImpactsData Responsibility:Data Responsibility refers to information, knowledge, and conceptions obtained by observation, investigation, interpretation, visualization, and mental creation.  Data are intangible and include numbers, words, symbols, ideas, concepts, and oral verbalizations.Gathers, organizes, analyzes, examines or evaluates data or information and may prescribe action based on these data or information.People Responsibility:People include co-workers, workers in other areas or agencies and the general public.Provides information, guidance or assistance to people that directly facilitates task accomplishment;
