Officers play a vital role in deterring incidents through visibility, vigilance, and proactive engagement. Responsibilities include patrolling, monitoring access points, verifying identification, responding to alarms/emergencies, and maintaining detailed logs. This role requires professionalism, strong observational skills, and the ability to remain calm under pressure.Minimum Qualifications• Must have or obtain a Valid Security Officer/Guard License as required by the state licensing authority• Must be at least 18 years oldDuties & ResponsibilitiesPatrol & Surveillance• Conduct walking patrols to identify and report safety concerns• Monitor access points; verify IDs and credentials• Monitor surveillance systems for threats or suspicious activityIncident Response & Reporting• Respond to alarms, emergencies, and incidents per protocol• Maintain accurate logs of activities and incidents• Perform routine security tasks (, locking/unlocking doors)Customer Service & Policy Enforcement• Assist visitors and employees professionally• Enforce site-specific Post Orders and security protocols• Ensure compliance with SEI and client policies (, smoking, loitering, parking)Required Skills & AbilitiesMinimum• Ability to perform in fast-paced, high-pressure environments• Weekend availability• Strong situational awareness and problem-solving skills• Ability to remain calm and effective in critical situations• Basic computer skills; ability to use tablets for reportingPreferred• Familiarity with Microsoft Office SuitePhysical Requirements (subject to change based on client-specific needs)• Stand/sit for at least 1 hour without break• Walk a minimum of ½ mile without stopping• Climb at least 20 commercial facility stairs without stoppingEducation & ExperienceMinimum• High School Diploma or equivalent• No prior experience requiredPreferred• 1+ Year of Verifiable Security, Law Enforcement or Military experience• 2+ years of verifiable customer service experienceNote:Responsibilities and requirements listed are not exhaustive.
