Position SummaryFood Runners Interact with guests, fellow employees, and supervisors in a polite, courteous manner to ensure excellent service is the result of every interaction. Food runners deliver all food menu items and accurately describes them to the guests. Food runners are a liaison between the FoH staff and chefs.Duties and ResponsibilitiesPossesses in-depth knowledge of all food and beverage menus and the company.Delivers all food items to the guests, in a timely manner.Provides an accurate description of dishes delivered.Communicates the needs of guests to FoH staff and/or chefs.Participates in table maintenance and bussing of excess tableware.Maintains the general cleanliness of stations and entire venue.Maintains food runner side station and completes all assigned side work.Portrays a positive and professional attitude and appearance.Understands the policies and procedures of the organization and adheres to the company standards outlined in the company handbook.Possesses conversational knowledge of food and beverage items served at the establishment.Participates in training sessions, departmental meetings, or pre-shift meetings.Ensures the well-being of all guests and co-workers by following the Company Safety Standards and maintaining compliance with the Department of Health and OSHAA.Our Ideal Candidate2+ years’ previous fine dining experiencePrevious experience working in a large fast paced restaurant setting.Demonstrates effective oral & written communication, interpersonal and conflict-resolution skills.Possesses excellent organizational skills, problem-solving skills, and time management ability.Actively contributes as a team player by supporting co-workers throughout each workday.Has a solid understanding of the job duties assigned to them and outlined in their job description.Alerts management of all safety concerns immediately.Certifications RequiredCertification relating to Alcohol Awareness (TIPS/SIPS for example)Food Handling Safety certificationPhysical Demands and Work EnvironmentMust be able to stand, walk, lift and bend for extended periods of time.Must be able to bend and lift up to 50 lbs.Role may include job duties or tasks requiring repetitive motion.Role may include exposure to hot kitchen elements or cleaning materials.Must be able to work and remain focused in a fast-paced and ever-changing environment.Ability to work a flexible schedule with varying shifts days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.This is not necessarily an exhaustive list of all responsibilities, requirements or working conditions associated with the job.
