This position will be required to perform the following functions: Will be responsible for splicing fiber and the installation of Outside Plant (OSP) and Inside Plant Fiber Optic/Copper Networks. Work aloft up to 50ft in bucket truck or on a ladder, climb utility poles and work in manholes.Installation and dressing of fiber optic cables (vertical/horizontal).View and print traces.Skills and Experience Required: A minimum of 3-5 years related splicing experience. Ability to fuse or mechanically splice SM or MM fiber optic cables to include termination of various types of fiber optic connectors (ST, SC & LC).Experience with computers to update drawing and Fiber Optics Splicing documentation.Experience and knowledge in fiber acceptance testing.Possess a valid NYS Driver’s License and have a clean driving record.Must be able to lift 75 lbs. frequently.Preferred Installation and testing of pressurized and non-pressurized closures on all types of sizes and cables experience.Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced and quickly changing work environment with strict deadlines.DDS is an equal opportunity employer.  All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, gender, national origin, disability status, protected veteran status or any other characteristic protected by law.   Powered by JazzHR
