Sterling Therapy Providers - Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA)Rate: $27 to $35 Per HourBENEFITS:• Medical, Dental & Vision Insurance • Life Insurance • Disability Insurance • 401K • Holiday Pay • Paid Time Off • Overtime Available • Full Time/ Part Time and Per Diem POSITION SUMMARY:The Physical Therapist Assistant implements physical therapy programs and provides physical therapy treatments to residents to facilitate increased independence and functioning under the supervision of a Licensed Physical Therapist.RESPONSIBILITIES/ACCOUNTABILITIES:1 Implements resident’s individualized treatment plan as defined by the primary Physical Therapist;2 Provides individualized physical therapy treatments including modalities and exercises;3 Acts as an assistant to the Physical Therapist when the Physical Therapist is performing tests, evaluations, and complex procedures;4 Organizes and facilitates treatment groups in consultation with the physical therapist;5 Instructs residents, families and other caregivers in the skills and techniques of the physical therapy treatment program under the supervision of the Physical Therapist;6 Works with other members of the rehabilitation team to develop programs and activities consistent with the needs and capabilities of each resident;7 Maintains appropriate and timely resident and non-resident documentation for all residents treated;8 Attends and contributes to resident care, staffing and other required meetings as a representative of physical therapy, under the direction of the physical therapist;9 Cleans, maintains, identifies, and reports the need for repair of equipment, as necessary;10 Ensures that residents and families receive the highest quality of service in a caring and compassionate atmosphere that recognizes the individuals’ needs and rights.SPECIFIC EDUCATIONAL/VOCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:1 Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapy Assistant Program certified by the American Physical Therapy Association.2 Licensed as required by the State.JOB SKILLS:1 Good organizational skills and time management skills.2 Good verbal and written communication skills.PERFORMS RELATED DUTIES:1 Interacts with residents, families, visitors and employees.2 Carries out other tasks as requested in situations where hands-on intervention/participation may be required.
