Preconstruction Engineer

Practical problem-solving skills are essential, along with the ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize work effectively. The candidate must also be able to collaborate with diverse teams both on-site and in the office. Some responsibilities will be office-based, particularly those related to documentation and planning, while others will require on-site presence for field walks and meetings with stakeholders.MINIMUM REQUIREMENTSEducation: Highschool Diploma, Technical Associate, or a related experienceExperience: Some previous experience in construction or internships is preferred but not required. Knowledge of construction programs like Bluebeam studio, AutoCAD, and Revit are beneficial but not required.Travel: 50% depending on business needsWork Schedule: Typical work hours are between 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. Monday – Friday. Overtime may be required.KEY RESPONSIBILITIESAssist in interpreting construction plans, drawings, and specifications.Participate in pre-bid meetings.Generate and distribute meeting minutes.Keep all stakeholders informed of changes and modifications made throughout the construction process.Provide support to field personnel during construction, ensuring design intent is accurately translated to the field. May be required to work on-site as needed.Attend site meetings and visits to document existing conditions.Assist and collaborate with the engineering team in developing designs to meet project goals.Support MEP coordination with other trade contractors.Aid in the construction as-built and documentation process.Maintain logs, responsible for the submittal and RFI process, and report updates to senior engineers and project managers.Perform other related duties as required and assigned.This role will receive tasks assigned by the Senior Preconstruction Engineer and Preconstruction Manager.The job description and responsibilities described are intended to provide guidelines for job expectations and the employee's ability to perform the position described.
