Sr. Construction Manager Location Long Beach, CA, US Primary Job Responsibilities Onsite senior leadership position tasked with overall management of multi-scale domestic and international projects.Subject matter expert with working knowledge of the respective industry and a project-proven track record of leading projects from the proposal inception to project completion.Supervises all site personnel and independently accountable for larger staff or support arm of the organization.Highly specialized skills, knowledge or techniques requiring some problem recognition, solution development and action step formulation within structured and/or defined judgment parameters as defined by the job. Superior interpersonal skills are required to ensure success of the department, project and/or functional area or the organization.Initial project set-up and subcontract strategy development, shop drawing review and processing, contract review and changes, daily client and subcontractor relations and all required client and project reporting.Tasks are multiple and take on a more diverse or broad relationship. Breadth of thought encompasses an entire function or project or several unrelated sub-functions. Thinking approaches are generally defined. In addition to much organizing, work prioritization and related skills, supervisory skills are required for management/supervision of staff of direct reports Job success often hinges upon interpersonal skills. Job tasks require frequent interchange and completion of job tasks depend in large part upon effective interaction with others. Often changing deadlines, inquiries and related pressures, reprioritizations and/or trade-offs (which may approach risk-taking) often result in substantial compensatory efforts and additional time. Requires proficiency to work effectively and efficiently with others using fundamental interpersonal skills conducive to teamwork.· Makes effective client, labor, and public relations. · Manages a team of construction specialists that are responsible for the actual construction, field engineering, quality assurance, contract compliance, craft supervision, administration, material control, and project controls. · Coordinates the preparation of and issuance of reports on the construction status of the project. · Keeps client informed of daily activities on the site. · Makes sure that all plans and procedures for the project are implemented in the field and manages the activities accordingly. These include: - Safety Programs - Project Controls - Client Relations - Administration - Quality Assurance - Warehousing - Field Engineering - Subcontracts - Field Procurement - Craft Supervision - Labor Relations Training and Experience 20+ years of Heavy Industrial project-proven work experience.Proven experience in $500MM+ construction projects.
