Hatch is currently seeking a highly motivated Senior Site Planner / Scheduler to join our Project Delivery Group (PDG) supporting clients in Gary, IN. PDG helps clients reach their business goals through a range of strong technical capabilities. Our engineering and project management and construction disciplines ensure safe, efficient, and sustainable delivery of projects globally across the metals and mining, infrastructure, and energy sectors.  We manage our clients’ entire project lifecycle from studies to building assets, operating the assets, and developing efficiencies.   Join our team and become part of a community that strives for positive change–providing the best solutions for our clients’ toughest challenges    The Senior Planner is responsible for providing comprehensive project planning support through the engineering, procurement, construction and testing/commissioning phases, using standard planning techniques. Responsibilities: Establishing, monitoring and updating multiple project plans/schedules by: Developing detailed project schedules using standard coding and work breakdown structuresUnderstanding project scope and identifying tasks/activitiesSequencing work packages/activities and developing network modelsEstimating activities durationDeveloping schedule development plans and basis of scheduleEstablishing critical path and total project durationPreparing Level 1, 2 and 3 project schedules by summarizing the detailed work schedulesPerforming schedule control by analyzing critical path, planned value, earned value, schedule variance, schedule performance indices and schedule risk analysis, and recommending corrective actionsUpdating project schedules to reflect progress against project baseline and preparing management reportsParticipate in the change management process with raising schedule deviations and schedule impacts to project changes Must have: In Depth understanding of the EPCM industry and practicesComprehensive knowledge of practices and procedures involved in the planning function, with a minimum of 15 years proven experience in the execution of complex projects in the metals sector; steel industry experience is preferredHands on experience in planning and preparing logic diagrams, critical path networks and bar charts, with particular emphasis on detailed construction schedulesAbility to receive information from numerous sources, and have excellent written and verbal communication skillsIn depth experience with computer based scheduling systems (Primavera P6, Microsoft Project) and other computerized applications related to the work is essentialFully familiar with resource allocation and levelling techniques as well as earned value analysisMust possess sound judgement; strong analytical and interpersonal skills, well developed organizational and administration skills, verbal and written communication skillsTact and diplomacy required when providing assistance and support regarding the preparation and analysis of project schedulesAbility to coordinate the efforts of others to accomplish objectivesAbility to develop, coach and mentor a team of intermediate and junior planners  Why join us? Work with great people to make a differenceCollaborate on exciting projects to develop innovative solutionsTop employerWhat we offer you? Flexible work environmentLong term career developmentThink globally, work locally Don't meet every single requirement?
