Staff Software EngineerOverviewJoin a high-performance engineering team developing mission-critical C++ software in a Linux environment. Our engineers design, integrate, and test software solutions supporting defense and missile systems, with opportunities to contribute at increasing levels of technical leadership and responsibility.On Site in Huntsville, ALResponsibilitiesDesign, develop, and maintain C++ applications on Red Hat Enterprise Linux.Implement, debug, and unit test software within CI/CD pipelines (GitLab, Jenkins).Support hardware-software integration, simulation, and system testing.Collaborate in Agile/DevSecOps environments with multidisciplinary teams.Participate in requirements analysis, interface definition, and system integration (senior levels).Mentor junior engineers and contribute to technical planning and process improvement (L4).Basic QualificationsMid: BS + 2 yrs (or equivalent).Mid-Senior: BS + 5 yrs / MS + 3 yrs / PhD + 1 yr.Senior: BS + 8 yrs / MS + 6 yrs / PhD + 4 yrs.Proficiency in C++, Linux (RHEL), and Git-based version control.Experience with software development, integration, and testing in engineering environments.Ability to work onsite and collaborate cross-functionally.Active Secret clearancePreferred QualificationsExperience with hardware/software interfacing, simulation frameworks, or missile defense systems.Familiarity with Agile tools (Jira, Confluence) and DevSecOps practices.Knowledge of containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) and automation tools (Ansible, Nexus).Exposure to fault analysis, environmental testing, and system-level validation.Strong communication, documentation, and problem-solving skills.
