A healthcare provider is seeking a skilled Occupational Therapist to serve elementary school students in a dynamic educational setting in Apex, NC. This contract position, spanning the current school year through June 12, 2026, involves working with general education students at two elementary schools, including a K-5 Spanish Immersion/Magnet School. The role requires collaboration, cultural sensitivity, and expertise in pediatric occupational therapy.
Key Responsibilities
Provide specially designed instruction (SDI) tailored to the needs of elementary school students. Conduct comprehensive evaluations and screenings to identify students occupational therapy needs. Manage a caseload of approximately 36 students, supporting their development and participation in the school environment. Collaborate with educators and families to develop and implement individualized treatment plans.
Communicate effectively with bilingual students and support staff; bilingual skills are preferred. Preferred Qualifications:Licensed Occupational Therapist with experience in school-based settings. Proven ability to work with general education students in delivering occupational therapy services. Familiarity with Spanish language and culture to support Spanish Immersion/Magnet School students (strongly preferred).
Strong evaluation and documentation skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team. Schedule and Location:Office based in Apex, NC. Monday through Friday, 37.5 hours per week.
Daily hours: 7:15 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Contract duration: ASAP through June 12, 2026.
