In order for experience to be considered qualifying, primary duties must have included activities such as administering assessments and tests for diagnostic psychological evaluations or completing functional behavior assessments; developing behavior support plans or writing psychological treatment plans; and/or providing psychological counseling and treatment in one or more of the following areas: mental and/or emotional disorders, cognitive disorders, behavioral disorders, intellectual disabilities, developmental disabilities, alcoholism, addictions, substance abuse disorders, sex offender assessment and treatment, or forensic mental health. Non-qualifying experience include but are not limited to experience in experimental psychology, research psychology, industrial psychology, organizational psychology, health psychology, utilization review, guidance counseling, pastoral counseling, or as a habilitation specialist, or instructor of psychology. **A practicum, externship, or clinical fieldwork assignment is defined as a direct clinical experience providing psychological services in a hospital, psychiatric hospital, psychiatric clinic, community mental health clinic, correctional facility, intermediate care facility, institutional or school setting, or community based residential and/or day program; and must have been a component of a qualifying master of psychology degree program listed on the official transcript.

Duties Description PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Family Care duties

• Develop, implement, and monitor functional behavior assessments and behavior support plans (or higher-risk behavior support
plans for anyone with forensic background) for individuals with challenging behaviors associated with intellectual
disability/developmental disability and/or psychiatric diagnoses.

• Develop, implement, and monitor Medication Monitoring Plans for individuals with challenging symptoms/behaviors associated
with psychiatric diagnoses.

• Present behavior plans to review committees such as the Human Rights Committee (HRC) and Informed Consent Committees
(ICC) for approval. Present plans to Risk Management Committee if anyone has a Higher Risk BSP.

• Obtain Informed Consent for MMP's and BSP's and track due dates to prevent lapses in consent and maintain regulation
compliance.

• Collect and summarize behavior data for psychiatry consults and treatment plans. Due to the unique nature of the Family Care
Program and Family Care providers not having access to the OPWDD Electronic Health Record (EHR), need to enter
progress notes into the EHR for significant events.

• Participate as a member of an interdisciplinary team and attend meetings for treatment plan development/review, residential
habilitation, and the assessment of and implementation of safeguards for individuals.

• Provide progress updates at Life Plan meetings.

• Coordinate psychiatric care by providing data and information to psychiatry providers and attending psychiatry appointments.
Serve as a liaison for the psychiatry providers, HVDDSO and the Treatment Team.
Clinic duties

• Conducts intake evaluations to determine recommendations for treatment including appropriateness for psychotherapy.

• Conducts individual, group, and family psychotherapy with individuals who have ID/DD as well as other complex needs
including mental illness, forensic background, trauma history, severe behavior issues, and/or other issues.

• Maintains a caseload of individuals for treatment and works with the person's staff and/or family members to help them better
understand the person's needs and diagnoses to ensure continuity of care.

• Conduct assessments including risk assessments, capacity to consent assessments, capacity to understand (such as a health
care proxy), ability to have Home Alone or Independent Community Alone Time assessments, dementia screenings, and
impact statements, as applicable. May also assist with comprehensive autism evaluations, assessments of cognitive and
adaptive functioning, or other types of specialized assessments.
General duties

• Participate as a member of the Psychology Department. This includes attending monthly meetings and performing special assignments, as directed. May include membership on Risk Management, ICC and/or HRC committees.

• Participate in training for new employees or other staff on psychology topics.

• Submit all documentation in a timely manner, using the Electronic Health Record (EHR).

• Other duties and responsibilities assigned by the supervisor.
