Spring 2026 Graduate Assistant

OverviewThis position provides growth opportunity for a graduate student. The GA will have experience with social media, communication skills both via email, TeamWorks communication software, and collaboration with other departments with workshops and programming. They will work one on one with student-athletes who need academic support and will be invited to attend department meetings. They will learn how to be a professional in a very busy, student-facing environment. Duties/Responsibilities Provide one-to-one academic support for at-risk student-athletes Communicate with head coaches regarding academics, workshop development and leadership programming for student-athletes Assist in the coordination and implementation of the Student-Athlete Freshman Workshop and Bear Up Sophomore leadership programs. In collaboration with the Office of Career Services, coordinate and implement the Career Bear Workshop series for Junior and Senior Student-athletes Coordinate the Student-Athlete Peer Mentor program. Assist in NCAA Compliance efforts as needed Communicate and cooperate effectively with Athletic Department staff, University employees and students to accomplish the mission of the Department and University. Assist the Office of Equal Opportunity /Title IX Coordinator office as a responsible employee with regard to incidents of sexual or gender-based harm or discrimination.
