Join our team of seasoned professionals and become a part of the fabric of the New York food sceneRole Overview: As a member of the Meat team, our team members must take pride in having a vast knowledge of our meat items. They will deliver exceptional guest service, be responsible for display items for the department, monitor waste, and be a strong team player. Responsibilities & Duties: Help department to maximize sales by providing exceptional guest service.Ability to increase sales by suggestively selling products to every guest.Unload products from truck, break down pallets, take in deliveries, and separate product for sales floor, and cooler.Required to ensure all products meet Citarella standards prior to filling displays.Basic knife skills.Responsible for product rotation, facing, restocking, maintaining display.Adhere to all DOH, DOA and OSHA standards. Handle chemicals (department cleaning and sanitize solution).Follow, maintain and perform safety and sanitation procedures; throughout all shifts.Communicate effectively with peers and management.Always maintain professionalism and treat everyone with respect and courtesy.Must always be guest focus and forward facing. Adhere to all assigned duties by management team.Minimum Requirements Minimum of 6 months to 1 year with meat experience, guest service and sales experience.Exceptional guest service, organization, and merchandizing skills.Ability to retain product knowledge.Ability to act with a sense of urgency and remain productive in a fast-paced environment.Must possess problem solving skills.Empowered team player willing to assist fellow associates.Additional Requirements: Report to work at the scheduled time, neatly groomed, and the in the correct uniformThe associate is occasionally required to sit, stand, reach, lift, bend, kneel, stoop, climb, push and pull items weighing 20–75 pounds.The position requires manual dexterity, visual skills, and the ability to follow written and oral instructions and proceduresAbility to work within temperature-controlled environmentsHandling and controlling cleaning suppliesMaintain a clean and safe environment by following Citarella and DOA standardsAbility to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends and holidaysOther duties may be assigned as business needs change.
