 DESCRIPTION: Evaluates, plans, carries out janitorial and preventative maintenance schedules for all department equipment and facilities personally or through assigned staff or outside vendors. Evaluates status of equipment and facilities and schedules needed repairs or replacement. Conducts various analyses and inspections of heating, cooling, air handling lighting, plumbing, and other building systems to determine the most cost-effective means of maintenance, repair, or replacement. Must have strong customer service skills and must be available to work all shifts, weekends, and holidays. Must be available for snow removal and be on call for building emergencies. Individual preforms other related duties as assigned.Salary Information*Full Time, up to $35 per hour; commensurate with experienceHillel Yeshiva is accepting applications for the position of Building Maintenance Mechanic. Applicant must have knowledge of appropriate methods to diagnose and repair heating, electrical, plumbing and other systems, as well as the ability to follow safety precautions. Successful applicants must agree to a thorough background check and physical/drug test that will include fingerprinting. All data received will be kept in strict confidence except to inform the individual of the findings and what action will be taken as a result of this information.The ideal applicant will be able to contribute to the overall well-being of the school by ensuring safe and functional living and working environments.QUALIFICATIONS:Minimum Requirements: High school diploma or equivalent; and three (3) years of facilities maintenance experience with strong background in building technology, mechanics, maintenance management, business management or a closely related field. Must hold a valid New Jersey State driver's license in good standing. Applicants must successfully pass a comprehensive criminal history and background investigation.CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:· New Jersey State Driver’s License· Black Seal Boiler Operator LicenseSubstitution: Applicants who do not possess the required education may substitute additional professional experience on a year-for-year basis with one year of such experience.SUPPLEMENTAL INFORMATION:Driver's License: Appointee will be required to possess a driver's license valid in New Jersey only if the operation of the vehicle is necessary to perform essential duties of the position.Authorization to Work: US Citizenship is not required. Selected candidate must be authorized to work in the US according to Department of Homeland Security, US Citizenship and Immigration Services regulations.
