The Division supports numerous clinical programs, delivering over 3,100 anesthetics annually to children with congenital and acquired heart disease in the cardiac ORs, catheterization labs, and non-OR locations such as MRI. Research and Scholarship:The Division of Cardiac Anesthesiology is actively engaged in clinical and translational research. Highlights include participation in multi-center trials, a collaboration on venous waveform analysis, and an Innovation Award for the CHD Panorama data integration project. Additionally, the Jolley Lab continues to advance 3D imaging and modeling of heart defects, while the Lynch Lab develops optical neuromonitoring tools. The division publishes extensively and regularly presents at national conferences.The Division Chief will play a pivotal role in advancing the Division’s research and academic missions. Responsibilities include:Developing and fostering collaborative research programsManaging infrastructure to support ongoing research effortsAllocating academic time and resourcesSupporting and fostering funded research within the Division and across the DepartmentLeadership Responsibilities: The Division Chief will report directly to the Chair of the Department of Anesthesiology and Critical Care Medicine and will work closely with the Physician Practice Director, Chief Cardiac CRNA, other Division Chiefs, Associate Chairs, and the Vice Chair.
