The Departments of Ophthalmology and Pharmacology at Mayo Clinic invite applications for a Postdoctoral Research Fellow. The Research Fellow position will study the cellular and molecular mechanisms of retinal disease, with a particular emphasis on retinal fibrosis. Our group is dedicated to understanding the drivers of vision loss and translating laboratory discoveries into therapeutic approaches for patients. This position is ideally suited for an MD or PhD scientist who is enthusiastic about working at the intersection of basic science and clinical research.

Research Focus & ResponsibilitiesThe successful candidate will:Develop and apply cell culture models of retinal fibrosis and retinal degenerative diseases. Utilize molecular biology, biochemistry, and imaging techniques to study disease mechanisms and therapeutic targets. Participate in the collection, processing, and cataloging of clinical samples in collaboration with Ophthalmology colleagues. Contribute to grant applications, manuscript preparation, and presentations at national and international meetings.

Mentor graduate students and research staff in experimental design, data analysis, and laboratory techniques. Engage in collaborative projects across The Departments of Pharmacology and Ophthalmology at Mayo Clinic.
