You'll work on systems that make intelligent decisions in real-time, optimize complex logistics networks, and coordinate thousands of delivery events across diverse geographical areas. Our systems must excel in environments ranging from dense urban centers to suburban neighborhoods, each presenting unique challenges that require innovative solutions.What Makes This Role Exciting:- Real-World Impact: You and your team will own code to power systems that deliver millions of packages to customers, making their lives better every day- Scale That Matters: Your systems will coordinate thousands of delivery events across different cities, weather conditions, and scenarios- State of the Art Tech Stack: You will the latest in Gen-AI, machine learning, IoT, and cloud computing to solve real-world problems- Innovation at Scale: You will pioneer entirely new approaches to last-mile delivery challenges- End-to-End Ownership: You'll work on complete solutions from route optimization to fleet management, from simulation to real-world deploymentRequired Skills:- Passionate with high-sense of ownership- Strong software engineering fundamentals- Experience with distributed systems, cloud architecture and embedded systems- Expertise in machine learning and optimization algorithms- Passion for solving complex logistical challengesJoin us in building the future of delivery technology at AmazonBASIC QUALIFICATIONS- 3+ years of engineering team management experience- 7+ years of working directly within engineering teams experience- 3+ years of designing or architecting (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience- Knowledge of engineering practices and patterns for the full software/hardware/networks development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, certification, and livesite operations- Experience partnering with product or program management teamsPREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS- Experience in communicating with users, other technical teams, and senior leadership to collect requirements, describe software product features, technical designs, and product strategy- Experience in recruiting, hiring, mentoring/coaching and managing teams of Software Engineers to improve their skills, and make them more effective, product software engineersAmazon is an equal opportunity employer and does not discriminate on the basis of protected veteran status, disability, or other legally protected status.Los Angeles County applicants: Job duties for this position include: work safely and cooperatively with other employees, supervisors, and staff; adhere to standards of excellence despite stressful conditions; communicate effectively and respectfully with employees, supervisors, and staff to ensure exceptional customer service; and follow all federal, state, and local laws and Company policies.
