Our small agile teams adapt to evolving customer and warfighter needs.Title: Senior Software EngineerLocation: Aurora, CO Schedule: M-F 40 hour work weeks on-siteType: Long-term contract Pay: $70-90/hr pending experince level Qualifications:• Typically requires a Bachelors degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and four (4) years of relevant software engineering experience.• Experience developing object-oriented software using Java.• Software development lifecycle experience using the Agile methods.• Active and transferable government issued TS/SCI security clearance, can accept Top Secret with SCI eligibility What You Will Do• Design, develop, test, deliver, and maintain software for cutting-edge satellite ground systems.• Work with talented teams of engineers, architects, and leaders in an Agile environment.What You Will Learn• A breadth of advanced software technologies and techniques including multi-tiered architectures, AWS web services, and microservice software design.• Modern DevSecOps and Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery techniques.• Software lifecycle practices for large-scale defense projects.• Satellite ground system technologies including command & telemetry, flight dynamics, planning and scheduling, and spacecraft operations.Qualifications We Prefer• Experience with some area of satellite ground system software such as mission management, planning and scheduling, command and telemetry, satellite operations, or flight dynamics models.• Interest in software leadership roles.• Experience developing software using C++ and Python.• Experience with microservices in an AWS environment using Docker and Kubernetes.• Experience with Test Automation, DevSecOps, and CI/CD processes.• Experience working with a large-scale legacy software system.• Experience with tools such as Confluence, Eclipse, Jira, Jenkins, Junit, Kafka, and Spring BootAdditional InformationEEO EmployerApex Systems is an equal opportunity employer.
