Our esteemed client is searching for an insurance defense paralegal to join their team in Austin, Texas. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required, and candidates must be proficient in the use of MS Office and database applications such as iManage. Salary: $75,000-$85,000 JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: 1. Maintain attorney calendars and schedules; 2. File case documents in an organized manner for easy access; 3. Draft documents such as pleadings, discovery and correspondence; 4. Electronic filing/e-service of pleadings and discovery; 5. Assist attorney in preparation of hearings and upcoming depositions; 6. Maintain organized and thorough documentation for every case; 7. Take initiative in order to meet client and customer needs; 8. Communicate with vendors to set up depositions and other meetings; and 9. Work independently with minimal supervision. SKILLS/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED 1. Superior verbal and written communication skills including excellent proofreading skills; 2. Ability to effectively interact and communicate with people at all levels of the firm; 3. Successful candidates must demonstrate excellence in organizational skills; 4. Strong ability to multi-task; high level time-management skills; 5. Attention to details with good follow through-and follow-up; ability to be proactive; 6. Ability to maintain a customer/client focus and build rapport with others inside and outside the firm; 7. Trial preparation experience is preferred; and 8. Ability to adapt to changing priorities and remain calm in high pressure situations. EDUCATION AND TECHNICAL PROFICIENCY REQUIRED 1. Minimum High School Diploma or equivalent; 2. Strong knowledge of MS Office applications; 3. Knowledge of iManage strongly preferred; 4. Proficiency with DropBox and/or other FTP download programs; 5. Familiarity with federal filings and Pacer preferred; 6. Experience with Westlaw preferred; 7. Experience with Coyote, iTimekeep or other timekeeping software required; and 8. Proficiency with electronic filing/e-service of pleadings and discovery.
