Description Key AccountabilitiesPrepare engineering change packages for modifications to the station, including design drawings, vendor drawings, specifications, and other applicable documentsMaintain civil and structural calculations up to dateAssist in developing solutions to engineering technical issues in support of plant operation and maintenancePrepare technical reports and presentations on engineering technical issues as neededSupport problem identification and resolution using the Corrective Action ProgramPerform walkdowns for monitoring of plant structuresEnsure changes to the design requirements are identified, documented, controlled, evaluated, and approvedManage and complete assigned activities to support timely implementation for required plant operationsMaintain the plant design and licensing basis complying with industry standards and regulationsParticipating in Problem Solving and Decision-Making teams, troubleshooting efforts and developing repair strategies for plant equipment as necessarySupporting the Emergency Response OrganizationEducation, Experience, & Skill RequirementsBachelor's degree in Engineering (Civil/Structural) from an ABET-accredited institution (or international equivalent) is required10 - 15 years of experience is preferredAll levels of experience will be considered; previous engineering experience in the nuclear industry is highly desired Possession of Professional Engineer (PE) license or ability to obtain a PE highly desired Knowledge of AISC and ACI Codes requiredMust possess sound research, analytical and technical abilitiesMust be able to work independently in leadership and mentoring roles with little supervisory involvementProficient with Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel and PowerPointExcellent interpersonal skills and strong analytical abilityStrong written and oral communication skills, including the ability to make technical presentations to all levels of managementAbility to work extended hours, shift schedules and perform on-call duties when necessaryAble to deliver quality and accurate work within established deadlinesMust reside within site-specific Emergency Response Organization response timeFamiliarity with Nuclear Power Plant Design, licensing basis documents, and the processes used to maintain them is a plus.Key MetricsQualified to prepare complex design changes.Prepare engineering reports.Qualified to prepare complex 10CFR50.59 evaluations.Perform tasks in accordance with established expectations for nuclear safety and personnel safety.May be responsible for developing other employees in area of expertise.Serves a lead role on projects, teams, processes, or programs.One of few who possess abilities not easily gained and of significant depth in specific area(s) of expertise.** Final pay grade will be determined based on applicant's experience and qualifications **Job FamilyEngineering ServicesCompanyVistra Nuclear Operations CompanyLocationsOak Harbor, OhioOhioIt is the policy of the Company to comply with all employment laws and to afford equal employment opportunity to individuals in all aspects of employment, including in selection for job opportunities, without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, pregnancy, national origin, age, disability, genetic information, military service, protected veteran status, or any other consideration protected by federal, state or local laws.
