In addition to weekends. Including on call hours on a rotating scheduleWork Location: University of Miami Hospital & Clinics - Cardiac Echo Lab UTower Searches for abnormalities in blood flow sounds or heart rhythm, oxygen saturation and the appearance of heart defects or irregularities using ultrasound equipment. Positions patients, using immobilization when necessary, and explains procedures to patients. Performs Venipuncture for insertion of venous catheter for contrast administrationAdminister IV contrast during the performance of contrast echocardiograms. After education on indications, contraindications and side effects.Performs the quality control functions. Evaluates ultrasounds for diagnostic quality. Prepares and sets up medical supplies using aseptic techniques. Processes echo exams with appropriate medical history and match it with the appropriate paperwork for interpretation. Assists in maintenance and compilation of statistical data. Performs other related duties incidental to the work therein. After education on indications, contraindications and side effects.
