Diesel MechanicUSA Waste and RecyclingUSA Waste and Recycling, IncPosition Summary:The Diesel Mechanic is responsible for troubleshooting, cleaning, inspecting, and maintaining equipment at transfer stations and material-recovery facilities safely and professionally. This position is a 2nd shift with the hours of 1:00 pm-11:30 pm and requires a valid driver's license.Your Role:Troubleshooting heavy equipment.WeldingMaintain and repair various types of heavy equipment, diesel motors, and hydraulic systems.Work all assigned shifts from the scheduled start time to the scheduled end time.Take an active role in the improvement of safety and health in the workplace.Participate in all required Company meetings, including weekly safety meetings.Maintains reasonable, regular, punctual attendance consistent with Company policies, the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), the Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA), and other federal, state, and local standards.Adapts to changing duties, as required, based on business needs.Your Skills: Ability to use a variety of vehicle maintenance tools such as hand tools, electric tools, pneumatic tools, jacking equipment, safety stands, and electronic testing equipment.Ability to receive, understand, and follow oral and written instructions.Ability to read and understand parts of service manuals.Ability to prepare legible and understandable work orders and schedule completion sheets.Ability to work in a variety of weather conditions.Requirements:High School Diploma or EquivalentDriver's License/CDL B is a plus.ASE CertificationTow Motor CertificationAir Brakes CertificationDemonstrated mechanical skills.Must supply own tools.2-5 years of experience in a transport environmentGritty, outgoing, and eager to learn.The environment is fast-paced, and the person in this role must be proactive, hardworking, highly organized, and an independent critical thinker.This Position Features:Family-Oriented EnvironmentExcellent Benefits and Bonus PotentialPhysical Demands:Listed below are key points regarding the job's environmental demands and work environment.
