Title: CNC Lathe Setup OperatorLocation: Wood Dale, ILHire Type: Direct HireSalary: $28-$30/hr.Benefits: Benefits ( Health, Medical, Dental), Paid Holidays, PTO, 401kSterling Engineering is hiring a CNC Lathe Setup Operator for a growing manufacturing company in Wood Dale. This role is ideal for someone with hands-on experience setting up and operating CNC lathes in a high-precision environment. You’ll be responsible for preparing machines, verifying setups, and producing quality parts to spec.Responsibilities:Set up CNC lathes by installing and adjusting tooling, fixturing, and workholding as neededLoad materials and verify part alignmentRead and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and job travelersPerform in-process inspections using calipers, micrometers, gauges, and other precision toolsAdjust machine offsets to ensure part accuracy and consistencyMonitor equipment during operation to detect and correct any issuesPerform routine maintenance and maintain a clean, safe work areaCommunicate with team members and supervisors to ensure production goals are metDocument setups and update run logs as neededQualifications:High school diploma or GED required; additional technical training a plus3+ years of experience setting up and operating CNC lathesStrong blueprint reading skills and mechanical aptitudeFamiliarity with various materials (metals, plastics, etc.)Proficient in the use of inspection tools (micrometers, calipers, etc.)Ability to work independently and troubleshoot mechanical issuesUnderstanding of safety and quality practices in a manufacturing environmentQualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, age, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, disability, protected veteran status, or genetic information.
