The Quality Engineer will be responsible for ensuring that our products meet all necessary quality standards before reaching the customer. This role involves designing and implementing tests, analyzing measurements, and identifying areas for improvement in production processes. The Quality Engineer will work closely with cross-functional teams, including production, design, and suppliers, to ensure quality is maintained throughout the manufacturing process.

Responsibilities and Duties:

Develop and Implement Quality Control Processes:

  • Design, implement, and maintain quality assurance protocols.
  • Establish and enforce quality standards and specifications.
  • Develop testing methods to ensure product quality.

Monitor Production Processes:

  • Oversee production processes to ensure adherence to quality standards.
  • Perform regular inspections and audits to identify potential issues.
  • Analyze production data to identify trends and recommend improvements.

Problem Solving and Root Cause Analysis:

  • Investigate product defects and identify root causes.
  • Collaborate with production teams to implement corrective actions.
  • Lead initiatives to reduce waste, improve quality, and enhance efficiency.

Supplier Quality Management:

  • Work with suppliers to ensure materials and components meet quality standards.
  • Conduct supplier audits and monitor supplier performance.
  • Collaborate on supplier development programs to enhance quality.

Documentation and Reporting:

  • Maintain detailed records of quality control processes and results.
  • Prepare reports for management on quality performance and improvement initiatives.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Continuous Improvement:
  • Lead or participate in continuous improvement projects.
  • Implement best practices in quality management.
  • Stay updated on the latest quality engineering technologies and methods.
Qualifications:
  • Education: Bachelors degree in Engineering, Quality Assurance, or a related field.
  • Experience: 3+ years of experience in quality engineering or a related field, preferably in manufacturing.
  • Process experience with IATF and ISO auditing preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to create and teach manufacturing processes, theories, and procedures
  • Knowledge and experience with parts measurement required
  • Certifications: ASQ Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) or similar certification is a plus.

Skills:

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in quality management systems and tools (e.g., Six Sigma, Lean, FMEA).
  • Possess very strong communication skills with the ability to successfully connect with non-technical individuals
  • Excellent computer skills working knowledge of Word, Excel, and PowerPoint; database management skills ideal
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to quality.
