Piper Companies is seeking a Sr. Java/Legacy Engineer to join a leader in the financial industry. The Sr. Java/ Legacy Engineer will play a critical role in maintaining and modernizing legacy systems built in Java while supporting the transition to newer technologies. The Sr. Fullstack/Legacy Engineer needs to be able to work a hybrid schedule ( 3 days on site) in Cary, NC.Responsibilities of the Sr. Java / Legacy Engineer include:Maintain and enhance legacy Java applications critical to business operationsCollaborate with architecture and development teams to support modernization effortsDesign and implement RESTful APIs to integrate legacy systems with modern platformsOptimize SQL queries and database interactions for performance and reliabilityQualifications for the Sr. Java / Legacy Engineer include:7+ years of professional experience in software engineeringStrong proficiency in Java, including legacy versionsHands-on experience with Spring and Spring Boot frameworksExpertise in designing and consuming REST APIsCompensation for the Sr. Legacy Engineer includes:$120,000 – $140,000 annually with a comprehensive benefit: Medical, Dental, Vison, 401k, PTO, holidays, sick leave as required by lawHybrid work environment – 3 days on-siteThis job opens for applications on December 1st, 2025.
