We have a dynamic and creative culture with a reputation and body of work that spans over seventy years. Sasaki is looking for an innovative, self-driven, and creative site civil engineer with 4-8 years of experience to join our multidisciplinary firm of landscape architects, architects, planners, urban designers, marketers, graphic designers, data analysts, ecologists, and civil engineers. This position is based out of our Boston office.Role DescriptionThe Sasaki civil team integrates engineering excellence with innovative site design; it is our focus and passion to create livable, sustainable, and resilient communities. Our work ranges from concept design to built work, from new developments to urban parks, and can be found everywhere from Boston to Dubai. Team members can expect to work closely with their teams on stormwater management, utilities, and land development engineering through the planning, design, permitting, and construction processes. Success in this role requires strong communication skills and the ability to balance big-picture thinking with attention to detail. Preferred Software Skills:AutoCAD Civil 3D Hydrology and Hydraulic Modeling Software (e.g. HydroCAD, Infodrainage, StormCAD, etc.) ArcGISPreferred Knowledge And Interest Areas:Stormwater/Flood Management Low-Impact Development, Green Infrastructure Utility Design Earthwork Design Cost Estimating, Construction Administration Land Development site design Experience researching zoning, development standards, development review processes, compliance matters, regulations, and standardsExperience preparing reports, narratives, development applications, submittal documents, and response lettersAbility to multi-task and coordinate on multiple projects, with multiple clients and sub-consultantsEffective technical and interpersonal communicationSensitivity to aesthetic design strategy during engineering designWhat you'll do:Independently and efficiently utilizes AutoCAD, AutoCAD Civil3D, and engineering modeling softwareAccurately and independently researches and performs engineering calculationsUnderstands and prepares high quality engineering drawings, specifications, and reportsAssists with project permitting strategyCommunicates complex engineering issues in a clear mannerCoordinates with and directs allied engineering consultants Shows sensitivity to aesthetic design strategy during engineering designGuides sustainability, resilience, and ecologically-friendly designUnderstands and has experience with all aspects of project delivery from master planning, concept design, schematic design, design development, and construction documentationPlease apply with a resume, cover letter, and any work samples you may have
