Entry Level Traffic Engineer

Job Description The Bloomfield, NJ office of Dewberry is seeking an Entry Level Traffic Engineer for its Traffic Engineering Department. Candidates who are eager to learn will perform Traffic Studies, Traffic Analyses and Traffic Engineering tasks such as Traffic Signal design, ITS and Electrical/Roadway lighting following state and municipal design standards and practices.Dewberry is a leading, market-facing professional services firm with more than 60 locations and 2,500 professionals nationwide. Responsibilities Work with a team of engineers, planners, and technicians on roadway and transit projectsPerform field investigations, assisting in traffic analysis, design, and construction support tasksAbility to learn planning and design aspects of projectsPrepare construction cost estimates and quantitiesDesign Traffic Signals and signal timings per agency standardsPrepare Traffic Signal plansExperienced in or have the ability to learn traffic modelingPrior software experience including Synchro, HCS, VISSIM, AIMSUN, CUBE, TransCAD, ARCGIS a plus Required Skills & Required Experience Bachelor’s of Science in Civil or Electrical Engineering.Engineer in Training (EIT) certification is preferred.0-3 years experience in the field of traffic engineering.Familiarity with ITS technologies and wireless communications is a plusFamiliarity with NJDOT, NJTA, NYSDOT, NYCDOT, and/or PANYNJ highway projects preferred but not required.The projected range for this position is $79,800 - $82,300 annually.
