The Groves Rehab and Healthcare Center - ROLE DESCRIPTION: The LPN Floor Supervisor is responsible and accountable for the oversight and efficient operation of a specific floor. LPN Floor Supervisor assures the highest possible level of resident care within the scope of the Missouri Nurse Practice Act, along with accepted standards of resident care. LPN FLOOR SUPERVISOR ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 1. Provides Nursing leadership over the nursing care team for floor. 2. Consults regularly with the designated Director of Nursing regarding issues impacting and affecting floor. 3. Ensures facility standards, policy and procedures are being followed, provide staff education and re-education when needed. 4. Assists with employee issues/disciplinary. 5. Ensure proper orientation of new employees. 6. Assists with conflict resolution with staff/families. 7. In-service/educate staff assists with communicating facility employee information. 8. Monitoring floor compliance with State and Federal regulations, providing education and re-education as needed. 9. Facility Audits as assigned. 10. Participates in QAPI/QI. 11. Assists with Care Plan updates. 12. Ensures all documentation is completed by charge nurses/CMT’/C.N.A’s. 13. On-Call rotation. 14. Review admission orders for completion and accuracy. LPN FLOOR SUPERVISOR OTHER DUTIES: 1. Performs other duties as assigned. LPN FLOOR SUPERVISOR QUALIFICATIONS: 1. Current RN/LPN licensure as approved by the state. 2. At least one year of nursing experience and continuing education or special preparation for gerontological and/or long term care nursing preferred. 3. Graduate from an accredited school of nursing PHYSICAL AND SENSORY REQUIREMENTS: 15. Must be able to cope with the mental and emotional stress of the position. 16. Must possess sight/hearing senses or use prosthetics that will enable these senses to function adequately so that the requirements of this position can be fully met. 17. Must be in good general health and demonstrate emotional stability. 18. Must be able to lift, push, pull, or move equipment, supplies, etc., in excess of fifty (50) pounds. 19. Must be able to lift, carry, stand, bend, squat, crawl, reach, and kneel using good body mechanics for sustained periods of time. LPN SUPERVISOR WORKING CONDITIONS: 1. Exposed to body fluids, infections, odors, and behavior of residents. 2. May be subject to hostile and emotionally distraught residents, family members, and staff. EXPOSURE CATEGORY: 1.
