Job Overview:

Through our carefully curated selection of merchandise, we guide and inspire our customers to make style a creative source of energy in their lives. The Designer for Bloomingdale's Private Brands plays a key role in bringing our brand vision to life through our private label product design and assortments.

Essential Functions:

Leverage design experience and established relationships in the fashion space to design elevated and unique product. Through thoughtful design, that resonates with our customer, to drive units, and revenue, along with the day to day management of suppliers Design product lines that reflect the preferences of a specific consumer segment, considering price, quality, visual aesthetic, lifestyle, and other factors Attend and run fittings to make design and technical decisions Set seasonal color palette Work directly with factories to sources and design best in class product Work cross functionally with all FOBs: RTW, Active, Swim, PJs, Girl's, Accessories, Handbags, Shoes, Home Collaborate with creative and merchant teams Pull inspiration from online, trend resources (ie: WGSN), social and runway and interpret key trends for the customer

Qualifications and Competencies:

We encourage candidates with either a bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience in a related field to apply

3-5 years related experience

Advanced Excel Practices open and continuous communication, values keeping others informed, effectively presenting information in a clear, concise manner Excellent leadership, facilitation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work across functional lines and at many levels Ability to think creatively, strategically and technically; strong analytical/problem solving skills  Ability to work a flexible schedule based on department and Company needs

Physical Requirements: 

Requires periods of walking, standing, communicating, reaching, crouching and climbing ladders Frequent use of computers and other technology, necessary to perform job functions, including handheld equipment, cash register and ability to process register transactions  Frequently lift/move up to 25lbs
